The Dance Connection are passionate about teaching high quality dance classes that are inspiring and creative. Our pupils are supported by their motivating teachers to achieve their own individual goals.
Our aim is to create confident dancers instilling a life-long love of dance.
We follow the globally recognised syllabi of The Royal Academy of Dance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
The Dance Connection was established in 2000 by studio owner Carla Duggan. We now serve over 400 pupils every week in a broad range of dance and theatre disciplines.
Pupils are given a variety of examination and performance opportunities
Carla Duggan RAD RTS AISTD began dancing at the age of 4 at the Jessie Murray Ballet School. On leaving school she successfully auditioned for ‘The Theatre School of Dance and Drama’ in Edinburgh where she completed a 3 year course, gaining many qualifications, including being awarded Distinction for both her Advanced 2 ISTD Modern and her Royal Academy of Dance teaching certificate.
Some of Carla’s biggest achievements include; Movement Director for Scottish Youth Theatre on a variety of shows including the premiere production of ‘Geordie’ that was performed in New York as part of Tartan Week, choreographing a piece for the hit TV programme ‘Can you Dance’ where here pupils were awarded 3 gold stars and shortlisted for the live shows and of course renovating an ice cream factory into DC Stirling Studios in 2017.
